Magazine covers come in many types.  Life Magazine was a photo magazine so almost all of its covers were photos.  The Saturday Evening Post was well known for its painted covers depicting slices of American life. The Toronto Star Weekly bounced back and forth from photos to cartoony drawings of kids and animals.

It’s difficult to find covers in near mint condition as they were subject to more wear and tear than inside pages.  Many also have subscription labels.  Entertainment and sports celebrities were popular cover subjects and, in Canada, royalty often appeared.  It’s interesting, but not surprising, that many subjects thought worthy of being on a magazine cover 60 or 70 years ago are now barely remembered.

I've also included some photo or artwork pages that accompanied articles.
